OLIVER TIMPERLEY

 For my project I have decided to go down the route of 2D illustration using Adobe Illustrator. I have explored this area many times, for example the magazine project and the music project. I really enjoy this area of graphic design and I’m fairly knowledgeable about it. However, for this project I’d like to take it one step further. Motion design is an aspect I’ve never touched on, and this project is all about exploring new software's/areas in order to build up skills. Therefore I believe combining the 2D illustration with motion graphics in After Effects would be a great partnership. My aim is to use these two software’s to create clean, smooth animations which showcase certain clothes. This way advertising can be more fun and in turn be more successful in catching the eye of viewers. In this project I wont be including much typography as I want the image animations to speak for themselves. I may include titles and names of brands when needs be, but I want to keep text minimal, following the theme of my critical links. I will be taking most inspiration from the designer Jason Munn, I'm fascinated by his simplistic nature and so I will be incorporating this into my work. I love the way he represents bands and creates messages through his intelligent illustrations. I'll also be looking at other artists throughout that follow a similar pattern of design to that of Jason Munn to help develop my work. I intend to create 6 animations of different fashion products and 6 separate poster illustrations.
